520R Journal1

After two weeks in ELI,I am used to study here gradually. The 520R course begins at 8:10am every Monday to Thursday, which I think quite well because it is easy for me to keep my head in the crisis every morning.

In the 520R course ,I have learned about a lot of skills in reading.Such as how to scan and skim ,which are very important in reading.By skiming,we can know the length of the whole article and the main idea of every paragaph, while work out the details we should scan the article, underline some key words when reading. We also did some speed reading in class, which is quite interesting.I find it useful to speed up in reading that I never exercise like this before. The article in our textbook is a little challenging for me,because it always has too many new words.I have to preview it before class in order to catch up with others.I hope I could improve my reading by doing so.

Yes, I believe, the most impressive memory of last week study is how to read fast. With a lot of intrudction about skin and scan and two quizs in one week, I am surely your expreience has been improved well enough. Of cause, forward-step practice and learning about summarizing the main point might help you too.
Looking forward your further performance in class. And you are a cute girl when you smile a lot.
With you happy everyday

Wen wen: Thank you for your first journal entry. The beginning of a class is always challenging. Don't foget that everyone learns at his or her own speed, so just do your best and remember that it is better to use material that is a little challenging for you rather than material that is too easy. The best way to improve os to read, read, read as much as you can! Also, you can look over your work, like this blog, and see if you can see any errors in sentence structure or things such as parallelism.
I look forward to your next blog!
